Contact Officer

Contact officers can be an important part of an organisation’s Sexual Harassment and Anti Discrimination & Bullying prevention policy and program.  The contact officer’s role is to assist co-workers to understand their rights and responsibilities within the workplace and their options if a problem arises.  The contact officer provides information and where appropriate support to individuals who believe they are subjected to bullying, harassment or discrimination.

The course content includes:

  • The steps involved in a complaint handling process
  • Skills necessary to fulfil the contact officer role
  • The role of the contact officer within the workplace
  • What constitutes discrimination & harassment under anti discrimination legislation
  • What constitutes bullying
  • Complaint handling principles
  • Conducting interviews
  • Structure of interviews

The workshop involves group workshops and role plays utilising the organisations policies & procedures.
