Mediation

Many organisations are turning to workplace mediation as a means of resolving workplace conflict and disputes.  WorkMatters has for a number of years mediated a wide variety of workplace issues that involve differing levels of interpersonal conflict.  Mediation facilitated by our nationally accredited, highly qualified and experienced mediators can open communication channels between the parties and forge better and more productive relationships in the future.

What is mediation?

Mediation is best described as a confidential informal voluntary process intended to resolve disputes or conflict through the assistance of an impartial and objective third party.  The role of the mediator is to guide the mediation process and discussions between the parties and allow the parties to reach a mutually acceptable solution.

Benefits of Mediation

Mediation can be used to:

  • Develop a positive work climate
  • Identify interests and priorities of the parties in dispute
  • Improve communication
  • Manage destructive emotions
  • Formulate proposals
  • Explore dispute resolution options
  • Note and record agreements

WorkMatters Mediation Models

WorkMatters understands that it may be necessary to strategically vary the mediation model to assist parties in reaching a resolution.

WorkMatters can use the following processes:

  • Facilitative
  • Evaluative

Our consultants will identify the most appropriate approach depending of the individual conflict situation with parties being encouraged to take an interest based approach.
