Individual coaching sessions are specifically designed to accommodate the needs of the individual and the circumstances that led to the conclusion that an individual required training, coaching or mentoring. The circumstances vary from case to case. For example:
- An individual coaching session may take place following a formal complaint of discrimination and an investigation into the allegations concluded that the person had acted inappropriately.
- A manager/supervisor may need to manage tensions or conflict within their team. The individual sessions would aim to develop the manager’s skills and knowledge and empower them to constructively manage the situation.
- A manager/supervisor may need support and coaching in dealing with effective performance management of their direct reports or a particular staff member.
The WorkMatters process includes:
- Contacting the supervisor/manager of the person being coached prior to commencing the coaching process for a briefing
- Development of a tailored program based on information obtained
- Meeting with the individual and discussing what they would like to gain from the program when appropriate
- The incorporation of organisational policies and procedures
- Utilisation of case law
The coaching session(s) is confidential, and designed to project a positive and constructive attitude towards whatever issue the individual is dealing with.
A closure letter briefly outlining the program undertaken will be provided to both the organisation and the individual.
The length of the programs can vary and are tailored to meet the needs of the individual and the organisation.
